West Rouge SC Under 16 Boys Interclub: From Worst to First

By Club Admin, 09/03/19, 8:45PM EDT

The West Rouge SC Under 16 Boys team plays in an interclub division with teams from the Scarborough Blizzard. The U16B team is made up of 14, 15 and 16 year old boys and is coached by Paul Moras and Melwin Lobo, both 2nd year coaches.  Recently in the playoff semi-finals, the West Rouge team lost 3-2. West Rouge did have chances and crawled back into the game after being down 1-3 at the half. In the final minutes the U16 Boys team had a chance to tie the game on a penalty kick but the attempt was wide.

Coaches Paul & Melwin reflected on how much the team has improved since last season and consider the 2019 summer campaign a success. At playoff time last year, the team was in last place, and didn't win a single game against any of the Blizzard teams. This year, the team finished the regular season in first place with a 9-2 record, and were 3-1 in the playoffs to also finish first.  The coaches had a great time coaching the players this year.  "They are a good and talented bunch of kids, and we hope they come back next year", said Coach Paul after the final game.

Coaches Melwin and Paul want to thank all players and their parents for their continued effort and support all season.
